FAQ

FIRST TIME TO ZOOM

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PREPARE FOR MY FIRST RIDE?

We’re so excited to have you join us! You’ll want to arrive about 15 minutes before class time, hydrated and ready to sweat!  You are in control of how much resistance you ride with and will get stronger with every class you take.  All of our classes are designed for all fitness levels, beginner to advanced, and we are a judgement-free zone.

WHERE CAN I PARK?

You can park in The Avenue surface lot which can be accessed from Jefferson St. or Spragins St.  There is also a parking garage accessible from the surface lot. The entire ground floor of the garage is reserved for retail parking and an elevator can take you up one floor to access our store front. There are also 7 2-hour parking spots along the street on Jefferson Street and many more on surrounding streets.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Wear comfortable clothes designed for exercise.  You will moving off and on the bike seat, so skip baggy bottoms.  Fitted biking shorts or leggings are perfect.

DO I NEED SPECIAL SHOES?

To provide a safer and more effective workout, we use specialized cycling shoes that clip in to the bike at Zoom.  Shoes are free with our 3 for $25 new rider offer, and $2 ($2.75 account charge) for rental thereafter.  For those bringing your own shoes, our bikes are compatible with SPD and Look Delta cleats.  Finally, we also offer shoes for sale, and if we don’t have your size in stock, shoe rental is free until they arrive.

NEW TO CYCLING

I’M PREGNANT, CAN I PARTICIPATE IN INDOOR CYCLING CLASSES?

Congratulations!  We would love to see you in our classes and prefer that you check with your doctor first just to be 100% sure you’re fit to participate in cardio exercise.  Our expert instructors can always provide modifications for you to ensure that you’re completely comfortable, and that both you and your baby stay safe!

WILL THE SADDLE HURT MY BUTT AND HOW LONG UNTIL IT GOES AWAY?

New riders are often sore after their first few cycling classes. This will go away after your first initial rides.  The muscles and tendons in your rear just take some time to get used to the new pressure from riding in the saddle. We also have gel seat covers free to use which can help ease you into your new exercise routine.

WILL CYCLING MAKE MY LEGS BIGGER?

Proper indoor cycling, just like any other form of cardio, uses your slow twitch muscle fibers, which are designed for long stretches of endurance that can accommodate short bursts of high intensity without completely fatiguing. Slow twitch muscles can’t increase in size like those fast twitch fibers can. So to answer your question – no!

BOOKING POLICIES

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION/NO SHOW POLICY?

Any cancellation made less than 8 hours before class time will be deemed a late cancellation and the class will be forfeited for those using a class pack. For those on unlimited packages, a $10 late cancellation fee will be assessed.  If you late cancel a lot, the VIP Unlimited Package has the perk of being able to cancel all the way up until class time. If you simply no show a class, there will be a $20 fee charged.

Our cancellation and no show policies are designed to allow as many customers as possible to enjoy class.

WHAT IS YOUR LATE POLICY?

We understand life happens, just call us if you’re running late, and we’ll hold your bike.

We’re happy to let you into a class during the warmup song (approximately 5 minutes after class start time), but after that, we can’t let you join a class in progress for your safety, and you’ll be deemed a late cancel.

HOW DOES THE WAITLIST WORK?

When you put yourself on a waitlist, you’re committing to attend if you clear into the class.  You’ll always be given a minimum of one hour’s notice if a spot opens for you.  If you do get cleared off of the waitlist and fail to show up for class, you will be charged a $20 no-show fee per our policy.  If you are not sure, just walk-in to class and see if there is room.

CAN I BOOK THE WHOLE STUDIO?

We are happy to accommodate groups for private rides: team building, parties or just a fun 45 minutes with your pals. Contact us by email info@zoomhsv.com or chat with us at the front desk.  We’ll set you up.

CAN I INVITE A FRIEND?

Riding is even more fun with friends! You can easily share your Class Pack credits or 12 Month VIP buddy passes by booking your friend as a “Guest”. They will still need to create an account in order to complete the check-in process upon arrival to the studio.
